The Wine Company (Evans Road) #1

I have been meaning to dine at The Wine Company, but I have not gotten the chance to until today, when I went to the Evans Road outlet with a date.

I ordered Grilled Lamb Chop. The lamb chop is grilled to perfection, but it would have tasted better if there had been some special sauce to go with it.

I was feeling a little adventurous, so I ordered a desert I have not eaten before: Baked Camembert with Apple and Raisin.

It turned out to be a total disaster.

Camembert “is a soft, creamy, surface-ripened cow's milk cheese” (quoted from Wikipedia). It is so pungent that I gave up after a few spoons.

Camembert is actually a very mild, creamy, almost flavourless cheese. From your picture, the chef included the rind of the cheese, which is horribly bitter and should not be eaten. Probably a poor decision!

Btw, I'm loving all the food reviews you've been doing. We should visit some of these places together with the rest of the girls when I get home!
