If you are
feeling dreary, maybe something in this list might help.
Take A Dump
There are more sophisticated ways of
saying this such as empty the bowels,
but I prefer the direct way of saying it, so yes, take a dump. It may not be
much, but sometimes it may be exactly what you need to make your day a little smoother, if you know what I mean.
Get Out of The House
You may think that your house is well
ventilated, but you are just sucking in recycled carbon dioxide that you have
just breathed out. You don’t have to do anything strenuous, just a short walk around
the block or park will make you feel so much better.
Have A Shower
Have a cold shower, to be exact. The coldness of the water will wake up
every cell in your body; so there’s no way you can feel dreary.
Treat Yourself To A Good Meal
You can either cook it yourself or have
it at a good restaurant. Go for things like lasagna or macaroni and cheese.
They are called comfort food because
they are there to provide comfort.
Meet A Friend
Stop feeling sorry for yourself and go
out to meet some friends. Have a quick lunch or dinner and you will be
surprised at how much better you feel after that.
Watch A Movie Alone
Stop waiting for someone to watch that
movie with you, what’s wrong with watching a movie by yourself? It’s easier to
get seats, and you can watch whatever you
want. You may not have someone to hug in the cinema, but you can always bring
your bolster along.
Sin Away
This is the time when you are allowed to pamper yourself. Forget about
the diet for one day and order a two-for-one Canadian pizza. Gorge yourself
senseless with chocolates or drink to your heart’s content. Whatever makes you
happy.
Music
and Songs
Watch cancer-stricken, tears-flowing
Korean drama serials or listen to sad songs. Cry it all out. You will feel much
better after you have gotten some of the unhappiness out of your system.
Write
A Journal
Writing it down helps, at least it helps
me. Write whatever comes to your mind. You can choose to publish it on a blog
or you can keep it hidden in your computer or laptop like I do. Quoting Stefan
from The Vampire Diaries, “Memories are too important to be forgotten”.
List
of Things
List down a list of things to be done and
get them done by the end of the day. When you have crossed out everything on
that list, you will have a sense of accomplishment that you have spent your day
well.
